This is the first wine Chateau Tanunda has bottled out of the 2012 vintage. This light, fresh and deliciously sweet wine is the perfect aperitif. The 0se is characterised by the lifted floral 0tes of musk and summer fruits with the palate having a great natural fruit sweetness. The slight natural effervescence is refreshing and cleansing, with fruit 0tes of lime and pineapple with a clean zesty finish.Picked early in the morning, the fruit was delivered cool to the winery. Gentle pressing to minimise phe0lics and cold settling preceded a long, cool fermentation averaging 12ºC. The fermentation was left to run its course over 14 days leaving a naturally sweet, vibrant wine. A touch of spritz is detectable on the palate from the residual carbon dioxide which was harnessed and bottled to retain both fruit vibrancy and freshness.
The palate has impeccably structured, this fine wine shows all the classic features of the vintage. Intense fruit flavours, wonderful texture from battonage and beautiful length derived from the ample natural acidity. All of these signatures together form a complex and classy wine. The aroma is white peach, nectarine and fig characters are abound, with fresh green apple undertones. The 0se is complex with subtle gun flint and biscuit aromas adding to the interest of this 'Chablis' inspired wine.Under prime cellaring conditions this wine has the ability to cellar well for up to 8 years.
